The cabin is in a clearing in the woods where ravens and eagles are neighbors. A wall of windows look out over peaceful and private woods and skylights scan the treetops to an open sky. Behind the bamboo fence about 150 feet is the yard and main house. Across the road only a few minutes away is Shark Reef Sanctuary, a 45 acre county park with walking trails through old growth woods to the ocean and views of the Olympic Mountains and other islands.

The kitchen has an under-counter refrigerator, and is fully supplied with plates and pots and pans. From the shower one looks out through a large window to the woods and the new toilet room is cozy and functional. In the summer organic vegetables may be available for purchase right from the garden.
A pleasant dining area beside large picture windows is flanked on one side by bookcases and the loft access stair, and on the other side by a cozy woodstove and seating area. The cabin is also heated by a Monitor oil heater.
Two bikes are available for guest use. Bikes and kayaks can be rented on the island. (See the Activities page for contact info.) Lopez is famous for its bicycle friendly scenic and relatively flat roads. Lopez Village is about 10 minute drive where there are grocery stores, restaurants, and shops. Lopez has the most public access to the shoreline of any of the islands, and our beaches and waterfront parks are very accessible and beautiful. The weather is temperate year round,with summer temperatures in the 60′s and 70′s and winter temperatures in the 40′s and 50′s.
A pleasant and bright loft area is accessible by ships ladder. Upstairs under the skylights is sleeping space for four in two queen sized beds and an extra mat for single sleeping. Towels, sheets and blankets are provided. The beds are separated by a wall, but there is minimal audio privacy in the loft area.
