Ravens Rook is adjacent to Shark Reef Sanctuary, which is well known for its beautiful views of the Straits of Juan De Fuca, rock islands where seals and sea lions haul out to sun themselves, and, in the distance, the lighthouse of San Juan Island and the snow-capped Olympic Mountains.
Popular outdoor activities include bicycling and kayaking (see below for info on rentals and guided tours). There are numerous public beaches on Lopez for strolling and sunset-watching. Lopez Island is home to a diverse community of artists and craftspeople, as well as artisan food and beverage producers.
Between May and October the Lopez Farmers Market offers local crafts and produce for sale. Throughout the year Lopez Community Center hosts a variety of entertainment open to the public including drama, music, or a writers read. The Lopez Library is a hub of the community, with one of the highest circulation rate per capita in the state of Washington! Public computers are available at the Library and Wi-fi is available in much of the village. Chimera is an artist cooperative featuring a wide selection of local art and craft.
